So eat some chinese food, light some fireworks and prepare to give money to a chinese Lion Today. Celebrate this awesome day in style. 

So What does it being the year of the rat mean mean? Well, according to Chinese Astrology/The Chinese Zodiac, The Rat is the first of all zodiac animals. According to myth, the Jade Emperor said the order of power would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. The Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox, becoming first. Did he also trick the cat into no going to the party? Well that is up for debate, still, it does mean that is will be a year of wealth and surplus.
