Welcome to the Society for providing information and reviews of Manga's website, also known as Spiraken. We are a manga review podcast that reviews and discusses various mangas each week. Each episode we review 2 different mangas and give them a rating. The ratings are:

1) Have a Priest purify it….and then we burn it.

2) Your typical reading material…at your local Correctional Facility or Psychiatric Institution.

3) A gift from crazy Aunt Muriel...okay but forgettable.

4) Borrow it from a friend and never return it...unless offered Pocky.

5) Reallly, really fucking cool. If you do not buy this right now your blood will dry out, your brain will freeze, and your soul will be forfeit to the great Zomagustar! Mwa ha ha ha! (Hail Ippallazo!)

Also here are some basic concepts and terms we use in this podcast. manga- the Japanese word for comics and print cartoons. In their modern form, manga date from shortly after World War II but have a long, complex history in earlier Japanese art. In Japan, manga are widely read by people of all ages, so that a broad range of subjects and topics occur in manga. This includes action-adventure, romance, sports and games, historical drama, comedy, science fiction and fantasy, mystery, horror, sexuality, as well as business and commerce, among still many others. Otaku- a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime and manga. Gaijen- a Japanese word meaning "foreigner" or "outsider". chibi- a Japanese word meaning "short person" or "small child". The word has gained currency amongst fans of manga and anime. Its meaning is of someone or some animal that is small. It can be translated as "little". Ex. Sailor Mini Moon=Sailor Chibi Moon. Pocky- a Japanese snack food produced by the Ezaki Glico Company of Japan. It was first sold in 1965, and traditionally consists of a sesame biscuit stick coated with chocolate. Be careful of bricking in hot weather! baka- idiot, stupid. fan service- a vaguely defined term chiefly used for Japanese visual media—particularly in anime fandom—to refer to elements in a story that are unnecessary to a storyline and are designed to amuse or excite the audience with sexually-derived content.
